HELL9 was originally founded in 2010 in Salt Lake City, UT, (U.S.A) by exiting member of the Colombian band Unauthorized Racso Zeraus (guitars), he also is an ex-member of Colombian bands Ravenlord, Soulless and In Lust.
Racso invited Diego Torres to perform drums and Fernando Polite the vocals, the last one exiting to focus on other musical projects. In 2011, Javier Gonzalez (vocals) and Javier Leon (bass guitar) entered to collaborate with a foundation on melodic death metal.
They started as Code X and released an album called “Alternate Reality” in May 25th, 2013.
In 2019, after the sudden passing of drummer Diego Torres the band changed name to HELL9 and started focusing on a heavier and darker sound evolving towards a Dark Blackened Death Metal style.
Vitaliy Minyaylo, an outstanding musician graduated from Berklee College of Music, and originally from Ukraine living in Denver, CO played the drums in 2019 recording sessions for Phoenix Reborn; Racso Zeraus tracked guitars, bass guitars and synthesizers at Stagg Street Studio in Los Angeles, CA, and Javier Gonzalez tracked all vocals in Velvet Studio in Bogota, Colombia.
HELL9 released in December 4th, 2022 their new production called “Phoenix Reborn” which is available in all digital platforms. The album was produced by Racso Zeraus, co-produced and mixed by the German Villacorta and mastered by Maor Appelbaum in Los Angeles, CA.
